Furbo 360° Dog Camera Review: Worth It for Separation Anxiety?

The 360° model adds motorized pan-and-tilt tracking to Furbo's original fixed-lens camera, plus the treat-launcher that made the brand's name. We tested it specifically for the use case it's marketed hardest at: monitoring and intervening with a dog that struggles when left alone.

Our test subject is a rescue with a documented pacing-and-whining pattern starting roughly 20 minutes after the owner leaves. The bark-alert notification fired reliably, usually within 15-20 seconds of vocalization starting, and the app's live view combined with the two-way audio let us talk the dog down twice during the trial.

What actually helped versus what's a gimmick

• Auto-tracking genuinely follows the dog around a room instead of holding a fixed wide shot
• Bark-alert accuracy was high — very few false positives from street noise in our test window
• Treat launcher range and accuracy are good enough to actually reward calm behavior in real time

It didn't fix the separation anxiety on its own, but it gave us a way to intervene instead of just watching it happen.

Where it fell short

• Monthly subscription is required for the smart features that make the bark alerts useful
• Treat hopper is small — needs refilling every day or two with regular use

A genuinely useful tool as part of a broader separation-anxiety plan, not a standalone fix. Skip the subscription if you just want an occasional check-in camera — cheaper static pet cams do that job fine.
